Cross compile, or build enviromnet

Could anyone tell how to cross compile custom software for Tomato ?
I have installed optware and it works fine, but now I would like to compile my own software.

      The router is (if I remember correctly) Netgear WNR3500L.

        Good to know that things are working at your end. Netgear WNR3500L uses mips (liitle endian) cpu.
